things i saw today… st john’s 2013
i’m in st john’s, newfoundland, ostensibly for an academic conference i am attending (and presenting at), but truly i’m here to soak up the loveliness of the east coast.
here is what i saw today:
many lovely old beech trees shaded the tombstones in a cemetery i happened upon
quidi vidi village
some friendly gent who was asking me if i got the shot, so i took this one
the cool breeze from the ocean mixing with the warm inland air. that breeze was to-die-for
dried out berries disguised as pine cones
if you look closely you will see an eagle spreading its wings. this is a 13 week old juvenile bald eagle whose mother is trying to coax out of the nest for the first time. She’s apparently overdue for her maiden flight
stone-age lego on ladies lookout
oh the places you (could) go
cabot tower on signal hill
out fishing (presumably)
lime green lichen
st john’s viewed from the north head trail
yarn hand died and spun on newfoundland. it isn’t a trip until i buy some local yarn.
